Ricardo Arias: “Playing the first match at Mestalla is a big boost - we have to take advantage of it”
The Valencia CF legend and Club ambassador reacts to the LALIGA EA SPORTS 2025/26 fixture list on L’Informatiu on VCF Media Radio.
Football is back at Mestalla on Sunday, and despite the game against Osasuna being played behind closed doors, Valencia CF fans will be accompanying the side in spirit. As happened against Levante UD on the first match back, the supporters will provide colour to the stands with their signs, shirts, flags, scarves and other Valencia CF objects.
The move, part of an initiative between the club and the Agrupació de Penyes supporters group association, attempts to create an atmosphere as close to normal as possible amidst extraordinary circumstances. Mestalla has been a fortress this season, with Valencia CF yet to lose at home in LaLiga, and the fans have played a large part in that.
The number of Peñas involved in the scheme has increased since Matchday 28, as more and more fans provide their items that send a message to the players out on the pitch. Come kick-off the team will be able to see Mestalla resplendent in white and orange decoration, spurring them on.
